Austin Index

Maps

In the Austin Index, the Bureau of Business Research uses the term Texas Cybercities to identify selected Texas Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs).  The Cybercities use the identical component counties that are included in the MSAs that are defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) , Washington, D.C. The component counties of all the MSAs in the United States were revised in 2003 by the OMB.  We have used data for the revised MSAs where data are available. Some data in the Austin Index are available only for the MSAs as they were defined before 2003. Two maps are provided in the Austin Index that show the component counties of each MSA prior to the revisions in 2003 and the component counties of the MSAs after the revisions.
