Austin Index

Maps

In the Austin Index, the Bureau of Business Research (BBR) identifies four high-tech regions in the U.S. for which data are presented. Some of the high-tech regions are identical to the metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) in which they are located: Austin, Boston/Route 128 and Research-Triangle. The BBR has created the Silicon Valley high-tech region that includes four counties. The San Jose MSA (Santa Clara County) is a part of the Silicon Valley.  County-level data are aggregated into the high-tech regions and presented in the tables, charts, and excel files.
