Are you interested in joining our network of technology commercialization authors?
As an author, you will have a first hand opportunity to see some of the exciting innovations coming from our programs throughout the world. Many of the technologies are actively seeking business opportunities in the U.S. What does a technology commercialization assessment report entail? Generally speaking, we anticipate that writing a report entails 40-60 hours of work over 2 to 3 weeks. To write the report, we expect that you will conduct phone interviews and internet research.
The Application Process: Due to the dynamic nature of our work, we do not post opportunities on the website, but we encourage you to apply through the process outlined below. Our application process has been designed to give the various program managers an opportunity to get to know you and your work. We ask that you fill out a form with information about yourself and that you complete an exercise for us. We expect that reading and completing the exercise will take less than an hour and should not involve research on your part. | | | | | "Working with the Global Commercialization Group on technologies from three different countries has given me a truly unique opportunity to be exposed to some of the great innovation taking place around the world." Mike Breck, MSSTC 2006 |
If you do choose to submit your work on the written exercise, we will keep it, and your other information, on file for an indefinite period of time, and will make it available to all of our project managers. Please feel free to notify us at any time if you wish to be removed from our database of potential contractors. As you know, your expression of interest does not obligate you to do any work for our group; nor does completing and submitting the exercise. We understand that you have other commitments, and, if one of our project managers chooses to offer you contract work at a particular time, he or she will always check with you about your availability at that time. Offers of contract work always come directly from a particular program manager. Although the GCG team jointly recruits talent for our pool of potential contractors, only program managers have the power and responsibility to make offers of contract work, according to their projects’ current needs. During the winter and spring of 2008, we expect to have several projects that will need contractors for technology assessment research and writing. Our program managers try to give potential contractors as much notice as possible, and we understand when our timing means that people must turn down offers to work on our projects. Should you be unable to accept an offer from us because of timing but continue to be interested in our projects, rest assured that we will keep you in mind for future work. We appreciate this opportunity to get to know you and your work. Thank you for contributing your time and interest to our efforts. We very much hope we will continue to hear from you and that we will be able to engage you in a project that is both interesting and advantageous for you. How to apply: -
