Official Transcripts
By mail, send to:
Graduate & International Admissions Center (GIAC)
The University of Texas at Austin
P.O. Box 7608
Austin, TX 78713-7608
Electronically:
Institutions that are on the Texas Electronic Transcript Network or which use the national ANSI ASC X12 transcript format (SPEEDE) can provide electronic transcripts which will result in faster processing time.
An official copy of the academic transcript is required from every senior college attended.
Transcripts from junior colleges and community colleges are not required.
Unofficial copies and photocopies of transcripts are not acceptable.
Former UT Austin students do not need to order transcripts directly from the UT registrar. This slows processing time.
International applicants will need to have completed official English translations provided with the original language records, if the transcript is written in a language other than English. Foreign transcripts may be requested to be returned by GIAC once the transcript has been electronically scanned.
Resume
A resume detailing your employment history and management experience is required. Limit resume to three pages.
A school code is not needed for the IELTS; however, the address for scores to be mailed to GIAC will need to be given by the applicant.
International applicants must submit an official TOEFL or IELTS score.
Scores must be mailed directly to GIAC from the testing center to be considered official.
The test should be taken well in advance of the deadline as scores take approximately four to six weeks to arrive after the test has been taken.
There are minimum score requirements for admission.
For TOEFL: 79 on the IBT test (internet-based test); 213 on CBT test (computer-based test); or 550 on the PBT (paper-based test). For IELTS: An overall score/band of 6.5 on the Academic Explanation of the IELTS.
Test scores more than two years old will not be accepted.
If an international applicant holds a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. Institution or from an institution in another English-speaking country, the TOEFL/IELTS requirement may be waived.
