02.09.2007 MacuCLEAR Corp., an innovative pharmaceutical company started by University of Texas students from the Master of Science in Science & Technology Commercialization (MSSTC) program at the IC2 Institute, won the Texas Moot Corp Competition on February 9, 2007. MSSTC Graduate students, Christopher R. Aniszczyk, Doug Baum and Mario Ramirez, are behind this startup company which is developing a treatment for age-related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is the leading cause of severe vision loss and legal blindness in adults over the age of 60. MacuCLEAR Corp. will advance to the global Moot Corp® Competition May 3-5, 2007. Thirty-five teams from around the world will participate in this competition at The University of Texas at Austin. The Moot Corp® Competition began in 1984 by two MBA students from The University of Texas at Austin. It is considered the most prestigious competition in the world for MBA students and has been crowned “the Super Bowl of world business plan competitions.” |
