Scholarship Offerings in Touch Economic Times
from the University of Texas at Austin

March 23, 2009

AUSTIN, Texas – To continue attracting students to the master’s degree program in technology commercialization (MSTC), a one-year graduate degree offered by The University of Texas at Austin’s IC² Institute, scholarships are now available to all university employees.

The IC² Institute created the George Kozmetsky Memorial Scholarship specifically for full-time University of Texas at Austin employees who are admitted to its MSTC Program. Admitted employees may apply for a $20,000 tuition scholarship for the one-year MSTC Program. Up to two George Kozmetsky Memorial Scholarship awards will be made by the IC² Institute’s executive committee each program year.

“During times of recession, it has been proven many people decide to expand their skills and go back to school,” says Dr. Gary Cadenhead, director of the MSTC Program. “These scholarships have been created to make it easier for UT employees to attend an executive graduate program and further the university’s technology commercialization efforts.”

To be considered for the George Kozmetsky Memorial Scholarship, admitted employees should send a letter to the program director stating (1) how The University of Texas at Austin’s technology commercialization initiatives would benefit by their earning the MSTC degree, and (2) how they can contribute to strengthening institutional relationships between their organization or unit and the IC² Institute.
